Theory of mind involves the ability to take another person?s perspective in thought, emotions and intentions.  There is today a lack of instruments to assess children?s development of Theory of Mind (ToM) in Swedish. ToM is considered by many scientists to be the basis for development of pragmatic competence. The relationship between these two abilities is complex and not fully resolved. Both abilities are important components for the development of social skills.    The purpose of this study was to compare 4 and 5-year olds ToM-ability measured with a Swedish version of Wellman and Liu?s ToM-scale, Sally Anne and Social Emotional Test with estimated pragmatic competence measured with the Children?s Communication Checklist (CCC).

This essay examines the possibilities of writing a counter history about Anne Charlotte Leffler that does not have - like most of the previous studies and literary histories upon Leffler - the Swedish boundaries or the Swedish language as its model. That is to say that this essay, in opposition to most of the hitherto writings on Anne Charlotte Leffler, values the international reception as high as the Swedish reception. It does so by undertaking a case study based on the German review Deutsche Rundschau, which published six short stories by and three articles about Anne Charlotte Leffler between 1884 and 1894. The short stories and the articles in Deutsche Rundschau are compared with two other documents of reception that contribute to the understanding of the German reception of Leffler. The examination shows that the focus on the international reception can contribute to illuminate aspects of Anne Charlotte Lefflers authorship that previously have been disregarded.

Part of the great acclaim for Anne Rice?s Interview with the Vampire (1976) is due to the wayshe renews the vampire story by reinforcing the traditional erotic dimension and, as a result ofthis, the way she examines the theme of homosexuality already present in Bram Stoker?sDracula (1897). However, this essay shows that Rice?s novel stands in much closer relation toVladimir Nabokov?s Lolita (1955) than to Dracula and that pedophilia, not homosexuality, isthe facet of sexuality which here first and foremost comes into focus. Through a comparisonbetween Interview with the Vampire and Lolita emerges a surprising coherence on the levelsof plot and characterization, which in itself is of importance for our understanding of Rice?snovel as well as Lolita, but it is also interesting to note to what degree these two novels sharea world of concepts and ideas common to actual pedophiles.

Children undergo great developmental changes during the preschool and early school years. It is also the very same period in which their pragmatic abilities develop. This study aimed to examine the relationship between Theory of Mind and syntax. Fifty-four preschool and school children aged between 3:11 to 9:0 years participated. TROG-2 and a False Belief assessment of Sally Anne design using three conditions: narrative, silent and distortion were used.

I den här uppsatsen är målet att undersöka det återgivna talspråket i dialogen mellan karaktärerna i Anne Karin Elstads självbiografiska roman Hjem (2006). Prosatexten är på bokmål, men alla repliker är en form av Nordmøredialekt som mer eller mindre närmar sig nynorskformer. Problemet som uppstår när talspråk blir skrift är att skapa den nivå av återgivning som passar den tilltänkta publiken. Elstads repliker är fullt läsbara av gemene man, eftersom endast markerade dialektala drag finns med och inga specialtecken används. Elstad lyckas på ett genuint sätt göra historien trovärdig, även om de rena Nordmøreformerna ibland får stryka på foten..

In this study I have met three authors in a dialogue seminar on their literary work. The discussion, starting from texts by Lacan and Socrates, revolved around the dichotomy of personal and private, and how to benefit from personal material in one?s literary work. The three authors reflected on the writer Karl Ove Knausgård and the photographer Sally Mann, who both are working with their own immediate family as a motif. In Knausgård, you can find a strong and self-dissecting writer persona as a medium of creating recognition in the readers mind.

Uppsatsen syftar till att undersöka om en nära läsning av Moa Martinsons Kvinnor och äppelträd med fokus på de manliga karaktärerna förmår öppna texten för tolkning på något nytt sätt, huvudsakligen i ett självbiografiskt perspektiv. Även den omtvistade frågan om Kvinnor och äppelträds strukturella uppbyggnad behandlas i uppsatsen.      Skildringarna av männen - Förskinnsbonden, Gamlingen, Liter-Olle med sin hund och Videbonden ? visar sig leda mot en undertext, som inte frilagts i tidigare analyser. Martinsons sorg efter sina två drunknade söner tränger oupphörligt fram. Hennes kamp för att komma undan sina minnen och gå vidare avspeglas i romanen.
